Tullahoma City Schools recently received exciting news as the Tullahoma Educational Foundation For Excellence had approved several grant requests totaling $72,739.18.

William “Bill” Henry Carden Jr. passed away on May 26th, 2026, in Tullahoma at the age of 89. Bill was born on September 26th, 1936, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late William Henry Carden and Annie Mae Pace. He married Mildred Elizabeth Greene on July 21, 1961.

Vera Mae Cawthron, 79

Vera Mae Cawthron, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 25, 2026. She is the daughter of Clyde and Edith Vera McBee Cawthron. Born in Wartrace and graduated from Tullahoma High School in 1965. Vera then graduated from Bedford Country Hospital School of Nursing in late 1967, being one of the first nurses upon the opening of Harton Hospital. She was in different fields of nursing over 40 years until she retired.
Harry Thomas “Tom” Bentley III, 84

Tom Bentley’s physical form came to rest on May 25, 2026, as his ever- constant energy slipped its earthly bounds and returned to the boundless “physics of it all,” a construct in which he believed, though said he didn’t quite understand. In that spirit, he chose to return naturally to the earth, buried in a pine box, nestled near the trees beside a quiet creek in the community he adored -- Tullahoma. At his passing, he was surrounded by close friends and family.
