Clinic sees 245 patients

Remote Area Medical (RAM), the nation’s largest provider of free pop-up healthcare clinics delivering free dental, vision, and medical care, held their free clinic Winchester on June 6-7. The clinic at Franklin County High School served more than 245 patients. The value of care for the clinic was more than $200,000.
Patients at the clinic had access to free dental cleanings, tooth extractions, fillings, general medical exams, eye exams, and free glasses made on-site, and more. RAM does not require ID or insurance from our patients; the clinic is free to anyone in need of our services. Because the clinic operates on a first come, first-served basis, many patients spent the night in their cars on Friday night, to ensure they would be seen first thing on Saturday morning.
RAM’s free clinics provide patients with free, quality care thanks to the hard work of our volunteers. Our dentists, hygienists, doctors, nurses, and optometrists were all volunteers. Alongside general support volunteers, hundreds of volunteers spent their weekend providing patients with the patients they deserve. We had more than 280 volunteers throughout the weekend. RAM was founded in 1985 by philanthropist and actor, Stan Brock. RAM is celebrating more than one million patients served.
