UTSI confers service awards

The University of Tennessee Space Institute recently held its annual Service Awards Celebration to recognize faculty and staff who reached an employment milestone in the previous calendar year. Specialty awards were also presented. In addition, the Student Government Association, the Employee Relations Committee, and recent graduates were acknowledged at this year’s celebration. TCS has three staff semifinalists

Tullahoma City Schools recently learned that three staff members were named regional semifinalists for their respective awards. Dr. Wendy Wilkerson has been named a semifinalist for Supervisor of the Year, while Dr. Woody Dillehay is a semifinalist for Principal of the Year and Blair Clanton is a semifinalist for Teacher of the Year.
Tullahoma native recognized as a NETC 2025 Sailor of the Year finalist

Sonar Technician (Submarines) 1st Class Justin Gore, a Tullahoma, Tenn., native, was selected as a Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) Sailor of the Year finalist for 2026. Gore was nominated over sailors from across the entire NETC domain.
Banana Pudding Festival a sweet success

Saturday’s Banana Pudding Festival saw a good crowd turn out on a beautiful day to sample puddings and peruse vendors at the event. There was, of course, plenty of banana pudding to try out. Other vendors sold different sweets and treats. There were toys, handmade crafts, leather goods, team gear, and jewelry to pick from. It was all well supported by the community, with approximately a thousand people showing up for the all-day event. More than one vendor sold completely out of their stock.
High Tech Job Fair Thursday

Professionals and skilled workers from across Tennessee and the surrounding region are invited to attend a Technology- Driven Job Fair on Thursday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Atlantic Venue, 205 NW Atlantic Street, Tullahoma.
Two Tullahoma XC athletes commit to run at the collegiate level

The Tullahoma High School XC team recently had two seniors from their 2025 team sign with colleges, on a scheduled signing day of 10 Wildcat athletes at THS; Jackson Ites and Lukas Price. Ites will attend Motlow State Community College for XC, and Price will attend Cumberland University for both XC and track.
Gary Barfield reaches 700 career wins

With a successful season for the 2026 Tullahoma High School Softball team, current Head Coach of the program, Gary Barfield, logged his 700th career win coaching in softball.
Duncan qualifies for multiple state events

Junior for the Tullahoma track and field team, Brindley Duncan has continued an impressive career in her third high school season. She recently competed at a sectional meet with the rest of the Wildcats’ track and field team, where she officially stamped her spot in three events for the upcoming TSSAA state meet.
