Loyce Hazel Fanning Arrick, 84, of Huntland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Bailey Manor. A native of Huntland, she was born on April 3, 1941, to the late Charles and Hannah (Burks) Fanning.

U.S. Postal Service to implement 8% surcharge
The United States Postal Service (USPS) is in the works of implementing a temporary 8% surcharge in a move to offset rising transportation costs caused by the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Iran.
April 1 launches ‘Operation Hands Free’
Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSD) and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) are teaming up to launch “Operation Hands Free” in the state for the month of April. The goal is to reduce distracted driving. Though Tennessee has had a hands free law regarding cell phones since 2019, the number of traffic accidents and fatalities continues to climb.
An encouraging word and a high-five
Over 700 young clients, a 12,000 square foot facility, 500 families, 30 employee coaches and staff and always with an encouraging word are just some of the logistics Tullahoma Gymnastics and Cheer (TGC) co-owners and husband and wife team Brandon and Katie Leming manage weekly.
Tullahoma turns out for The Celtic Cup Coffee House
The 17th anniversary celebration for the Celtic Cup Coffee House held on St. Patrick’s Day was quite the community celebration. Piper Ed West played bagpipes during the day. Father Murphy conducted a Blessing Ceremony, and the Triquetra Irish Dance Group danced.
Lady Wildcats fall to sixth place in district
The Tullahoma High School softball team recently picked up back-to-back losses, losing against Lawrence County High School 18-8 and Huntland High School 13-2.
Three Tullahoma grapplers named to All Mid-State Team
Following another extremely successful season for the Tullahoma High School wrestling program, three THS wrestlers, junior Corbin Avans, junior Kiivon Butler, and freshman CJ Weaver, were listed as a part of the Class A All Mid-State Wrestling Team.
Retail sales down slightly to start year
Retail sales in Tullahoma in January, 2026 were down slightly compared to January, 2025. Merchants collected $17,216 or 1.19% less in sales tax between the two months. The reporting of retail sales are one month behind as merchants have a month to report their sales. For the first eight months of the fiscal year, retail sales in Tullahoma are up 5.46%.
